Enterprise recognized in Queen's Awards

The newly announced Queen's Awards for Enterprise 2005 comprise 137 accolades - the highest total for 10 years - including companies from the building, construction and quarrying sectors.
In the International Trade category, winners include three suppliers of equipment or spare parts for crushing, demolition and recycling machines (Advanced Crusher Spares, Extec Screens & Crushers, and BL-Pegson); a manufacturer of backhoe loaders (JCB); a maker of steel doors and steel framed glazing (Powershield Doors); and a provider of building engineering services (Rotary International).
Innovation Award winners include a developer of a new environmentally friendly contact adhesive (Apollo Chemicals); a company that turns ash produced by coal fired power stations into useable raw building materials (ScotAsh); and a firm that has developed a high-speed foundation system for supporting buildings, masts and road and rail side structures using screw piles (ScrewFast Foundations).
