* Businesses urged to enter Awards - Norwich Evening News

07/09/2006

More Norfolk businesses are being urged to enter the Queen’s Awards, one of the most prestigious business accolades in the country.

The Awards are made each year by the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an advisory committee that includes representatives of Government, industry and commerce and trade unions.  Winners in previous years have claimed that the Awards have added commercial value to their firm, as they are an independent endorsement of their quality.

This year, 145 companies in the UK won Queen’s Awards with 11 winners in the East of England.

However, none of these were from Norfolk.

Previous winners from Norfolk have included Trend Marine Products in Great Yarmouth, which won an Award for International Trade in 2004, and Hibreeds International Limited in Old Catton, which won an Award for International Trade in 2003.
