Printers recognised in business awards
The printing sector has again received recognition in the annual Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
This year sees 119 business awards handed out - 71 for international trade, 40 for innovation, and eight for sustainable development. Winning companies come from a variety of business sectors, and range in size from businesses with three employees to an international firm with around 68.000 employees.
Amongst the winners from the printing and publishing sectors are paint colour cards supplier, Taylor Bloxham; environmentally-friendly print company, Seacourt; publisher, Felix Rosenstiel’s Widow & Son; the inventors of a family of security card printers, Ultra Electronics Manufacturing & Card Systems, and specialist publisher Witherbys.
A representative from each winning company has been invited to attend a reception in London with HRH The Duke of York, whilst the actual presentation of each company’s award will take place by a Queen’s representative later in the year at the workplace. Winning firms receive extensive publicity and the chance to use the Queen’s Award Emblem in all marketing for five years. Representatives from each company are also invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace in the summer.
Richard Lambert, Director-General of the CBI, says: “Winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a tremendous achievement and this year’s winners are very worthy recipients that reflect the strength and diversity of UK plc.”
