A survey has discovered that winning a Queen's Award for Enterprise has a beneficial impact on a company's fortunes.
Of 172 firms surveyed, 80% reported that winning an award had resulted in a significant boost to staff morale, while 65% felt that they had benefited from press coverage. In addition, 55% of winners felt that their company had gained from increased recognition in the UK, and 45% had experienced increased recognition for their business overseas.

Winners also reported a positive effect on their business competitiveness, with 28% feeling that the award had given them an edge over their competitors. The winners of this year's Queen's Awards for Enterprise will be announced towards the end of this month.
