* Royal Enterprise Award for Leading Technology Firm

18/09/2003

Salford Advertiser

A Swinton technology firm leading the way in British overseas trade has been honoured by the Queen.
Col Sir John Timmins, Lord Lieutenant for Greater Manchester, presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise to the Swinton based firm Dedicated Micros at a ceremony attended by Deputy Mayor Stan Witkowski, along with staff and shareholders of the company.
Considered one of the most prestigious symbols of business achievement, The Queen’s Award was granted to Dedicated Micros for outstanding export performance, with 70 per cent of total turnover coming from overseas sales.
Nigel Petri, group chairman at DM, said that receiving the Award was a great honour and, “a tribute to our employees in the UK and around the world who have all played a part in our success.”
Since Dedicated Micros launched a CCTV multiplex recorder 21 years ago the business has gone from strength to strength promoting products across the UK and abroad.
Now employing 150 people at the Swinton headquarters, Dedicated Micros also has offices in the US, Europe, Australia and Asia.
