The Queen’s representative in Essex has presented a prestigious award to an Essex firm. Beautimatic International, which employs about 130 people in Witham, won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise this year for increasing its exports of perfumes and body sprays by 96 per cent over the past three years.
The company – one of 14 in eastern England to win an award – also increased the number of its employees by 35 per cent over the same period.
The award was presented to staff in a ceremony at Beautimatic’s Eastways premises by the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Lord Petre.
Beautimatic director Barry Rughani said; “We are delighted to be receiving a Queen’s Award for the second time. The first was in 1994 for the same category.
“It proves the efforts put into achieving the award are worthwhile and the recognition definitely encourages us to do more.”
Representatives from Beautimatic International also attended a reception at Buckingham Palace on July 16 for winners of Queen’s Awards from across the country. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise have been Awarded since 1965. Winners have to demonstrate excellence in International Trade, Innovation, or Sustainable Development.
