* Printing Firm Enjoys Evening At The Palace

18/07/2003

Kent & Sussex Courier

Staff from a printing firm based in Uckfield attended a high-profile reception for winners of a top award at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
Chairman of Bellbrook Park-based Beacon Press Mark Fair-brass attended an evening reception along with the sales director and maintenance manager of the company.
The event was held by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh for the winners of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise and was attended by Prime Minister Tony Blair and the Minister of State for Industry and the Regions Jacqui Smith.
The Awards recognise the achievement of successful businesses and employees working as a team and have been running since 1965.
Winning companies are required to demonstrate excellence in International Trade, Innovation, or Sustainable Development.
They are entitled to fly the Award flag and display the Emblem on their letter headings, in advertising and on goods produced.
Company director Wendy Fairbrass said: “ As a company we are wholly delighted to have received the Award it is something that the whole company has earned.”
