Award Is Good News For Town – Enterprising Mccain Picks Up Top Award

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise given to McCain Foods is another piece of good news for the town.
It comes in the same month that Pindar announced it had secured prestigious contracts and created more jobs.
It means that industry and innovation is alive and kicking in the town.
Such accolades are good for the profile of Scarborough, bringing it the right kind of attention.
It makes other businesses sit up and take note, inspires confidence in the workforce and could lead to more investment.
Tourism has a part to play in the town’s economy but that has to be developed – in harmony with the residents’ wishes.
There also has to support and room for developing other enterprises.
McCain Foods GB Ltd managing director Nick Vermont praised all employees for their part in earning the award.
They have every right to be pleased with themselves. They have done Scarborough a power of good.
